Scottsdale police say a man has died after he assaulted his elderly parents.
Sgt. Ben Hoster says the son died early Tuesday morning at a hospital where he was taken after he stopped breathing while being handcuffed Monday evening as officers responded to a domestic violence call.
Hoster says the man's mother had called the police and they encountered her outside her apartment at a senior living community.
According to Hoster, the woman appeared to have been beaten, and she told officers her son had attacked her and her husband.
Hoster says officers then found the man and his father inside on the floor and covered in blood.
Identities and the man's cause of death weren't released.
The parents also were hospitalized. They were reported in stable condition.
