Salvation Army announces operation deep freeze no longer in effect

The Salvation Army of Tucson has announced Operation Deep Freeze is off effect starting Saturday.

Once temperatures drop to 35 or 40 degrees with precipitation, doors will be open for anyone seeking overnight housing.

Salvation army will announce the call at 9 a.m. that morning, and they will keep doors open until 9 p.m.

Those who need shelter can go to Salvation Army Tucson Hospitality House, 1002 North Main Avenue.

Salvation Army says donations are needed to help keep people warm, and items needed include; coats, blankets, gloves, socks, and sweaters.

Donations can be taken to Naughton’s Plumbing or to the Salvation Army Tucson Hospitality House or call 520-795-9671.
