TUCSON, Ariz. — The Salvation Army Hospitality House operation deep freeze is in effect Monday night.
Operation deep freeze means they set up 40 extra cots for men and 10 extra cots for women.
Those in need are brought in during the coldest time of the night, serve them a meal, and provide a bed.
The client service supervisor says it's a safety net for the homeless.
Salvation Army Client Service Supervisor Jerry Barillo said "They get to see an outreach worker if they need some other services, or don't know about the services in town, we want to share that information with them."
We're told those who spend the night are also given another meal before they leave in the morning.
