CAVE CREEK, Ariz. (AP) - A woman who fell into a mine shaft while out for a run north of Phoenix has been rescued.
Authorities said Monday the woman appeared to have no serious injuries after being pulled from the abandoned mine overnight in Cave Creek.
The woman says she went for a run Sunday and got lost.
She then came across the mine shaft and fell 20 feet (6.1 meters).
The woman's father became worried when he hadn't heard from her and called the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies tracked her cellphone and heard her yelling.
She was hoisted out by a rope.
Authorities say she is expected to recover.
