UPDATE: Alleged road rage shooter called 9-1-1 himself; charged with second-degree murder

Update (2:13 p.m., Monday)

Court documents obtained by KGUN show the accused shooter, Jason Scott Jameson, called 9-1-1 himself and told the operator he shot a man in self defense.

Jameson claimed the man he shot, Jeffrey Honer, punched him in the face, then turned away, which is when he shot him, court documents said.

Jameson is facing a second-degree murder charge. He is being held on a $1 million bond, court documents said.

Update (4:50 p.m., Friday):

One man is dead after being shot in a road rage incident on East Snyder Road, east of North Houghton Road, Friday morning.

According to PCSD, two men were involved in a road rage altercation at just before noon. During the incident, one of the men was shot. He died at the scene. The other man involved stayed on the scene and is cooperating, according to a news release from Pima County Sheriff's Department.

The investigation is ongoing.
