Road projects active all around Tucson

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - If you're trying to move around Tucson---here's the story for you.

Like the spring flowers, road work is blossoming around town though it might not be as welcome.

If you're doing road construction, this is sort of the Goldilocks time of year. Not too hot, not too cold, not too rainy, the perfect time to get some road work done.

The newest project roughing up pavement to bring you a smoother ride later is the work on Old Spanish Trail between Houghton Road and 22nd Street.

Workers are using a milling machine to dig deep before they rebuild the base and put a smooth layer on top.

Money for this work comes courtesy of Tucson voters who gave city government the okay to sell 100 million dollars in bonds to repair Tucson streets.

Drivers on Old Spanish Trail should expect work to go on through the end of June.

It'll go Monday through Friday from 6am to 5pm.

Sewer work will affect drivers in mid-town and slightly west.  Work's still underway on lines at 22nd and Alvernon.

On River Road between Alvernon and Hacienda Del Sol, a Pima County Sewer project is removing temporary sewer pipes as part of 10 miles of sewer line rehabilitation.  Expect congestion on that stretch of River Road from 9am to 4pm.

Just south of River, median work on Craycroft has been restricting lanes and slowing down traffic.

That work's designed to make it easier for cars to turn into a new restaurant and some other commercial development coming there.
