Road closures for El Tour de Tucson

The Tucson Medical Center 33rd El Tour de Tucson presented by Casino Del Sol Resort is taking place this Saturday, November 21.
 
The race begins at 7 a.m. and ends roughly at 5 p.m at Armory Park, located at Broadway Boulevard and 6th Avenue.
 
Approximately 9,000 bicyclists are expected to ride in this year’s El Tour de Tucson.
 
The 55-mile course will begin at Swan Road and Fort Lowell Road at 10:30 a.m.
 
Road closures on I-10:
 
  • I-10 will be closed at Silverlake from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. Use Benson Hwy or Speedway
  • I-10 at Starr Pass will be closed from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., after which there will be restrictions until 5 p.m. Use Silverlake or Speedway.
  • I-10 at Craycroft, Wilmot and Kolb will be closed from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.  Use Valencia or Rita Ranch.
Road Closures in the area surrounding Armory Park:
 
  • 6th Ave. from Broadway to 22nd St. & all streets in between closed from 2 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • 6th Ave. & 12th St. Closed from 2 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • 6th Ave. & 13th St. Closed from 2 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • 5th Ave. & 12th St. Closed from 2 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • 5th Ave. & 13th St. Closed from 2 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Arizona Ave. @ 12th St. Closed from 2 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Arizona Ave. @ 13th St. Closed from 2 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • 22nd St. closed from 6th Ave. to Freeway Frontage Rd. West Bound Lanes
Those living between Broadway and 22nd St. & Scott Ave. to Frontage Rd., should exit to the North by using Granada, Congress or Convent/Church to Broadway.
 
Other major intersections will be shut down at various times during the day by law enforcement to assist the bicyclists and ensure their safety.
 
Motorist are advised to caution if driving along the route and should expect delays.
