TUCSON, Ariz. — The Pima County Flood Control District will begin to remove sediment from the Santa Cruz River bed south and west of downtown Tucson next month.
The county is still determining where to put the sediments.
One suggestion was made to the Rio Nuevo district board to dump the sand and silt onto an old parcel of land, once used as a landfill, at the base of "A" Mountain.
However, in order to do that, the county would need input from west side residents.
