TUCSON, Ariz. - State officials are offering $1,500 for information leading to the arrest of a poacher who killed two juvenile javelina in Sierra Vista over the weekend.

According to the Arizona Game and Fish Department, the two animals were found dead Sunday in a wash northwest of Calle Alamo and Bartaria Blvd. in Sierra Vista.

“Poachers are criminals. They are thieves who steal wildlife from Arizona citizens,” Supervisor Raul Vega of Game and Fish in Tucson said in a statement. “No true sportsman would illegally take young javelina and then leave them in the field to waste. We urge anyone who saw or heard something to contact us.”

To report information related to the crime, call 1-800-352-0700 and reference case number 19-001552.
