Former Huachuca City police chief Dennis L. Grey died Monday at age 64.

Believed to have been the longest-serving police chief in the state, Grey served in the role from 1985 to 2001, then again from 2001 until 2016. He retired in August.

"He was a legend in Cochise County," said department spokesman Jennifer Fuller.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday 1155 E. Willcox Drive in Sierra Vista.
