TUCSON, Ariz. — Work began this week on the Broadway-Euclid Avenue to Country Club Road Improvement Project.

The one-lane closure from Euclid to Campbell is expected to last two months.

Rocco DiGrazia has been the owner of Rocco's Little Chicago Pizzeria in midtown for more than 20 years. He says he's ready for the work to be completed already.

"I'm not thrilled that it is happening, but I'm glad it is happening and is proceeding, hopefully on schedule," DiGrazia said.

The majority of the work will take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

DiGrazia expects his business to take a hit, especially during the lunch rush. He says he plans to boost advertisement and potentially offer more daytime specials.

According to the Tucson Department of Transportation, the project will create six travel lanes for Broadway, several HAWK lights, bike lanes, sidewalks, and bus pullouts.

The entire project is expected to be completed by Sept. 2021.
