TUCSON, Ariz. — Another challenger has thrown his hat into the ring for the race for Pima County Sheriff.
Luis Pimber, a Republican law enforcement officer, says he's running against fellow Republican Mark Napier for the county's top law enforcement job this year.
According to a Facebook post from his campaign, Pimber is a former army combat medic and military policeman. He also says he's been part of the Arizona State Gang Task Force, and several other collaborative law enforcement task forces.
"I ask for your support as we are in trying times here in Pima County, I firmly believe that a united department is more effective in achieving a safer community," he said in the post.
Democratic former sheriff Chris Nanos is also running for his old job, along with Democrat Kevin Kubitskey. Election Day is Nov. 3, 2020.
