Congresswoman Martha McSally hosted a local job fair today at Rincon High School.
The fair was open to the public and featured representatives from more than 60 employers in Southern Arizona.
McSally's team estimates about 700 people came out over the four hours the event was held.
These employers include Northrop Grumman, CAID Industries, Raytheon Missile Systems, GEICO, Jim Click Automotive, The University of Arizona, Comcast, Ventana Medical Systems, Customs and Border Protection, the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System, CODAC, Southwest Gas, and more.
McSally told KGUN9, jobs and the economy is a concern she hears so often,
"I have a responsibility in Washington, D.C. for a legislative fight, which I can do, you know, to keep the opportunities for jobs to be here," McSally explained. "But, there's also a really important role I have as a convener to bring people together in the community to solve problems and so I thought, why can't we have our own jobs fair?!"
McSally said this was a successful first year and she plans to do another one soon.
