In a video posted on his Facebook page, Congressman Raúl M. Grijalva says he will travel to Phoenix to protest an event with President Donald Trump.

The president is set to have a rally at the Phoenix Convention Center on Tuesday, August 22nd at 7 p.m. It has been speculated that President Trump may issue a pardon to Former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio

Grijalva posted a more than six-minute video on his Facebook page along with this message:

My message to Trump: Don't bring your circus of hate to Arizona. I'll be in Phoenix on Tuesday night to protest his inexplicable defense of white supremacy and an expected pardon of Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

In the video Grijalva criticized Trump's response to violence in Charlottesville, and said when the president comes to Phoenix he plans to be there "in a counter-demonstration basic to the tenets of Martin Luther King and Cesar Chavez, non-violent resistance, pushback and defiance."
