Remains found near Craycroft and River were determined to be human, according to Tucson Police Department.
But there will be no criminal investigation.
According to TPD, the University of Arizona's Anthropology department was called in for what is believed to be a prehistoric anthropological investigation.
The Pima County Office of the Medical Examiner assisted, TPD said.
According to the medical examiner's office, the remains will likely go to the State museum for eventual repatriation to a local tribe.
