Red Cross opens cooling center for local mobile home park

UPDATE: The power has been restored to the Desert Sun Mobile Home Park. The emergency cooling center is now closed.


The Southern Arizona Chapter of the American Red Cross has opened a cooling center due to a power outage at a mobile home park located at 1741 W. Wetmore Rd.

According to the Red Cross, the Desert Sun Mobile Home Park currently has 25 mobile homes without power and air conditioning.

This power outage is impacting 20-25 families and 30-40 kids.

The Red Cross says the shelter will stay open until TEP can restore power. There will be cold water, drinks and snacks provided.

The cooling center is located at Ellie Towne Flowing Wells Community Center at 1660 W. Ruthrauff Rd.
