TUCSON, Ariz. — It's Arizona versus Arizona. The Red Blue game is just a scrimmage, but for Wildcat fans, it's the sign of a fresh start.

McKale was packed with excitement over the new recruits. All eyes were on Nico Mannion, Zeke Nnaji, Josh Green, and Christian Koloko.

Before tip off, fans took a moment to remember last year's disappointing season. The Wildcats didn't make it to the post season.

There's also the possibility the Wildcats could face sanctions and penalties from the NCAA. In June, former assistant coach Book Richardson was sentenced to prison time in the ongoing college basketball bribery scandal.

"I think everybody is trying to stay positive about it," Anthony Montoya, a Cats fan who was at the game Friday night. "But it definitely is out there."

Fans are hopeful this year's season goes better than last.

"After last year, they deserve a good season," Rayma McCoy, a season ticket holder said. "The fans deserve it, too."
