Recycling sites await your trees after Christmas

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - After you unwrap presents and put away decorations, it will be time to get rid of your Christmas tree. The City of Tucson's TreeCycle Program is there to help.

From Saturday through Jan. 12, TreeCycle sites will accept trees in Tucson and Oro Valley. Sites are open daily during daylight hours.

Here are the sites:

  • Oro Valley Lot, 660 W. Naranja Drive, between First Ave. and La Canada Drive, Oro Valley.
  • Rillito Race Track, 4502 N. 1st Ave., east parking lot (follow signs).
  • Udall Park, 7200 E. Tanque Verde Road, south of ball fields (follow signs).
  • Golf Links Sports Park, 2400 S Craycroft Road, northwest of Craycroft Road. and Golf Links Road.
  • Tucson Rodeo Grounds, 4823 S. 6th Ave. (on Irvington Rd. and 6th Ave.).
  • Los Reales Landfill, 7164 S. Craycroft Road (entrance is at intersection of Craycroft Rd. & Los Reales Road, follow signs). Closed Sundays.
  • Silverbell Site, northeast corner of Goret Road and Silverbell Road (follow signs.
  • Purple Heart Park, 10050 E. Rita Road, southeast corner of Rita Road and Esmond Loop.
  • Randolph Golf Course, 600 S. Alvernon Way, southeast corner of parking lot.
