TUCSON, Ariz. - In order to open their slopes, Ski Valley needs 18 inches of snow on the ground, something they've had multiple times so far this year.

This winter alone, Ski Valley has received more than the two previous year, when they didn't get enough snow to open.

Ken Drozd with the National Weather Service in Tucson told KGUN9 that typically the month of February sees more precipitation than March, but added we could still see a few systems before the month is over.

"In March usually we still get some lingering winter precipitation, though normal is a little bit less than what we would get in February," Drozd said.
