We share the desert with rattlesnakes, and a class teaches dog owners how to navigate the landscape while staying out of their way.

The Humane Society of Southern Arizona is holding classes at 5 and 6 p.m. at 3465 E. Kleindale Road.

The class teaches dogs to avoid snakes and warn you when one is within striking distance.

The cost is $99 per dog, and includes a follow-up session. A second dog costs $79. Each dog must be accompanied by a separate handler.
