The Pima County Sheriff's Department is offering a Rape Aggression Defense course to teach and empower women ages 12 and older to fight against sexual assault attacks.
R.A.D. was established back in 1989, with the belief that self-defense should be easy to learn, easy to retain, and easy to employ during confrontational situations.
The program is funded by a grant money from the Department of Justice.
The two free courses offered are open to women in the community and will be held on October 13 & 20.
To sign up for classes call the Pima County Sheriff's Department Community Resource Unit at (520)351-4615.
