TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A longstanding Tucson tradition provided nearly 12,000 children with Christmas gifts.
It was the 45th year of Miracle on 31st Street and families lined up at the AVA Amphitheater to get toys to put under the tree this Christmas.
Creator Ramon Gonzalez was nervous after a toy shortage almost prevented the event from happening but it truly was a miracle on 31st street for attending families.
Gonzalez created the event 45 years ago. He started it because he wanted to hand out a few gifts to children around the neighborhood and today, the same concept applies but to thousands of children from around Tucson.
