TUCSON, Ariz. — Police are releasing new details about the 1-year-old girl shot in Tucson Tuesday night.
Officers first responded to the call at around 2 p.m. at a home near Pima and Swan streets. A baby girl with obvious signs of gunshot trauma was rushed to the hospital, police say.
At around noon Wednesday, police say the child died as a result of her injuries.
Investigating officers later determined a toddler in the home got hold of the gun and accidentally shot the infant.
Police say they're still investigating the incident and it will be reviewed by the country attorney.
