PHOENIX (AP) - Authorities say a 14-year-old boy has been arrested in a homicide that occurred during a burglary earlier this month in central Phoenix.

Aaron Chavez was arrested on suspicion of felony murder, burglary and armed robbery, and Maricopa County Attorney's Office spokeswoman Amanda Steele said Tuesday he is being charged as an adult.

Police said 30-year-old Diego Martinez was fatally shot Aug. 21 when he arrived home from work and found his home being burglarized.

They say the victim's cellphone and wallet were stolen and the gun used in the shooting was thrown into a trash container.

Police say security video and blood on his clothing linked the teen to the case.
