Police are asking for help from the public in locating a person of interest in connection with a reported armed robbery on Monday afternoon.

Police have apprehended one suspect and are searching for a person of interest, according to Tucson Police Officer Dan Lucas.

The reported armed robbery occurred at the Food City in the 2000 block of East Irvington Road.

Esperanza Elementary School was placed on lockdown while police searched the area.

Sunnyside School District spokesperson Mary Veres said the school was on a 'precautionary lockdown' which means there was dangerous activity in a surrounding neighborhood.
