Police search for robbery, shooting suspect

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Police are asking for help from the public in locating an armed robbery and shooting suspect.
 
Sgt. Kimberly Bay, spokesperson with the Tucson Police Department says that on Jan. 26, officers responded to reports of an armed robbery at the Quik Mart located at 5860 East 22nd Street.
 
Officers learned a man entered the store with a handgun and demanded money from the clerk, said Bay.
 
The man was described as approximately 5’5” and wearing a white with black “skull” mask, a black hooded sweatshirt with red and white design, blue jeans and white shoes.
 
Bay says that on at 2:51 a.m. on the same night, officers responded to reports of a shooting at the Quik Mart located at 1204 North Alvernon Way.
 
Officers learned a man matching a similar description from the earlier armed robbery at the Quick Mart entered the store with a handgun and demanded money from the clerk.
 
The man discharged his handgun and struck the clerk who suffered non-life threatening injuries, said Bay.
 
Detectives learned the man may be linked to another armed robbery that occurred on Jan. 22 at the Quik Mart located at 7667 East Escalante Road.
 
A man with a similar description entered the store with a handgun and demanded money from the clerk, said Bay.
 
Anyone with information related to these incidents is urged to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
