PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix police say skeletal remains have been found at a house where authorities had removed at least one child as part of a child abuse investigation in which both parents are in custody.
Police say firefighters found the skeletal remains Tuesday when they responded to a report of smoke coming from the home.
According to a Police Department statement, the smoke was reported about an hour after state Department of Child Welfare investigators went to the home to remove two small children as part a child abuse investigation in which an 11-year-old girl was taken into custody on Jan. 20.
The police statement says both parents of the 11-year-old girl are being booked into jail on suspicion of various charges.
