PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix police say a man who had collapsed on a street died after being run over by a car whose driver had gotten out to help him.
Police say the woman stopped her car but in her haste to get out to help the man failed to put it in park Thursday.
According to police, the man appeared to have a "medical event" of some kind while standing on a sidewalk before he collapsed on the adjacent street.
Police say 34-year-old Michael Phillips died at a hospital and that the Maricopa County medical examiner will determine cause of death. The 55-year-old woman's identity wasn't released.
