PHOENIX, Ariz. — Phoenix police have arrested three people in connection with a home invasion killing.
Sgt. Tommy Thompson said Friday that 36-year-old Matthew Zawacky, 46-year-old Michael Warner and 20-year-old Oscar Aguirre have all been booked on murder and armed robbery.
It was not immediately known if the trio had attorneys.
Investigators say Warner visited the home of Travis Dunham on Jan. 8. He then contacted the other two suspects and pretended to be a victim when they forced themselves inside.
Police say the suspects and Dunham exchanged gunfire. He was fatally shot and Zawacky was wounded.
According to Thompson, Zawacky’s brother and a friend drove him to the border. He ultimately was flown to Phoenix for treatment.
His brother, friend and a third person have since been arrested for hindering prosecution.
