The Tucson Police Department announced the passing of K9 "Rigz" Friday.
Rigz joined TPD in September of 2012 and served as a Police Service Dog until October of 2017.
TPD says Rigz and his handler Officer Jason Bentley were members of the SWAT Team. Rigz was involved in numerous high-risk operations.
The entire Tucson Police Department and specifically the TPD K9 Unit and S.W.A.T. Team would like to thank Rigz for his years of unwavering dedication and relentless service to the department and the community.
