Police arrest man on charges of killing his neighbor

The Tucson Police Department investigated a homicide Wednesday in the 1000 block of North Alamo Avenue around 5 p.m. 

According to TPD, a man called reporting that he shot and killed his neighbor after an altercation.

Upon arrival, officers located the caller and immediately detained him. He has been identified as 56-year-old Gregory Walters.

Walters told officers that the shooting took place inside his apartment. Officers entered the unit and found a man dead on the floor with gunshot wounds.

The victim has been identified as 53-year-old Wade Lockwood.

Detectives have since learned that Lockwood was visiting Walters at his apartment before the incident happened.

Walters has since been arrested and charged with one count of second-degree murder.

Police are actively investigating this shooting and are questioning neighbors. They ask anyone who may have seen or heard something, to call 911 or 88-crime to stay anonymous.
