TUCSON, Ariz. — Tucson Police and Tucson Fire responded to a fatal crash involving a motorcycle near the southside that happened Friday night.
The motorcyclist has been identified as 49 year-old Leonard A. Gastelo.
The crash happened near the area of 2400 South Mission Road at 11:00 p.m.
Upon arrival TFD was attempting to treat Gastelo. He died from his injuries at the scene.
Gastelo was traveling southbound on Mission Road as the road started to curve he lost control.
TPD say Gastelo hit the median, which caused him and motorcycle to fall over and slide several feet in the median northbound Mission Road.
Police say Gastelo was not wearing a helmet and speed was a factor in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
No charges or citations have been issued as this time.
