Tucson police arrested an aggravated assault suspect in midtown.
Officers were called to the 3300 block of East Camino Campestre around 3 p.m. Thursday.
The suspect, 39-year-old Clayton Squires, allegedly attacked the victim in his home with a hammer, Tucson police Sgt. Pete Dugan said. The victim fought back and hit Squires, who then stabbed him multiple times with a sharp object.
Police are investigating whether the victim knows Squires.
The victim was transported to the hospital with serious head injuries and stab wounds.
Squires was arrested Thursday night and faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault causing serious physical injury.
