TUCSON, Ariz. — A pedestrian who was involved in a midtown crash on Jan. 19 has passed away from injuries, the Tucson Police Department says.
TPD has identified the man who died as John Gordon Dear.
Since the collision, traffic detectives learned that a crash between two vehicles caused one of them to veer across lanes, hop over a curb, and enter a parking lot where the pedestrian was walking. As the vehicle crossed the parking lot, it hit the man, police say.
"The pedestrian remained in the hospital receiving care. Sadly, he passed away from his injuries on February 1, 2020.," TPD said.
Neither driver involved in the crash was impaired.
This investigation is ongoing.
