Police have arrested 32-year-old Johnny Angel Salazar in connection to a sexual assault and kidnapping incident.
Detectives received multiple tips from the public on the possible identity of the man connected to the March 10 incident.
This morning, two officers were driving in the area of E. Grant Rd. and N. 1st Ave. when they spotted a man matching Salazar's description. Officer’s detained him without incident.
During the initial incident, a woman in her late teens was approached by an unknown man while walking in a parking lot in the 900 Block of E. Speedway Blvd.
A man grabbed the victim and threatened to harm her with a knife if she didn't follow his directions.
The man, now identified as Salazar, forced her to walk with him on Speedway Blvd. and on Euclid, where police say he sexually assaulted her multiple times.
Salazar has been arrested and booked for sexual assault and kidnapping.
