Police arrest man for stabbing two men in illegal drug exchange in Sierra Vista

SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. — The Sierra Vista Police Department arrested a man for stabbing two men during an illegal drug exchange Saturday night.

Police say officers were patrolling the area of Wilcox and Coronado drives around 10:30 p.m. when they saw a vehicle traveling at a high speed .

Officers conducted a traffic stop Wilcox Drive and Calle Portal. Two men got out of the vehicle, both had stab wounds.

SVPD says 20-year-old Shane Snyder had stab wounds to his chest, he was treated, and flown to a hospital in Tucson.

SVPD says 18-year-old Timothy Jongeward had a stab wound on his hand and was taken to the hospital.

Detectives determined both men were stabbed during an illegal drug sale. The two men were stabbed by 20- year-old Hunter Warin.

Police say he fled on foot and was seen walking behind the Knight Inn. He was arrested and booked into Cochise County Jail.

Warin is facing charges of aggravated assault, one count of possession of dangerous drugs for sale, and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

The investigation into the illegal drug sale is ongoing.
