Tucson police are investigating an assault that left one man with injuries.

Sgt. Pete Dugan tells KGUN9 officers were called to the 2000 block of N. Rosemont at 3:15 p.m.

A fight occurred between two men, said Dugan. Then one of the men assaulted a woman in the front yard of the home.

The man who assaulted the woman fired shots, but nobody was struck, said Dugan.

Rosemont from Seneca to Peach is blocked off in both directions for at least two hours.

A passerby stopped to help the woman being assaulted.

One man was sent to the hospital non-life threatening injuries. The condition of the woman is unknown at this time.

The man who assaulted the woman and fired shot left in a vehicle, said Dugan.

Detectives remain on the scene and are searching for the suspect.
