Brian Johnson announced his resignation from his role as Pima County Treasurer last week.
His last day was Monday, June 15.
In a letter to the Pima County Board of Supervisors, Johnson said the decision to resign was difficult, but "recent urgent changes in my personal responsibilities have made it clear that I can no longer serve the citizens of Pima County at the level they deserve."
Johnson assumed the role of Treasurer on Jan. 1, 2025. His term was supposed to run through the end of 2028.
