Save the grease left over from your holiday meals. The Pima County Wastewater Reclamation Department is hosting a grease collection and recycling event.
Oils and grease can cause damage to sewer pipes when poured down a drain, causing sewer backups into homes, businesses and city streets.
The grease collected will also be recycled into biodiesel, which is cleaner burning than regular diesel.
There are five drop-off locations throughout Pima County:
- O'Rielly Chevrolet, 6160 E. Broadway Blvd.
- City Council Ward 3 Office, 1510 E. Grant Rd.
- Pima Community College - Northwest Campus, 7600 N. Shannon Rd.
- Kino Sports Complex, 2500 E. Ajo Way
- Sahuarita Town Hall Complex, 375 W. Sahuarita Center Way
The grease collection and recycling event is Saturday, January 6, 2018 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
