PHOENIX (AP) - Police have released the name of a pedestrian who was fatally struck by a vehicle in west Phoenix.
They say 43-year-old Norah Jane Gonzales was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident that occurred about 10 p.m. Saturday.
Phoenix police say Gonzales was crossing a street when the vehicle struck her.
She apparently wasn't in crosswalk that was located west of the collision site.
They say the 35-year-old driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.
Police say the driver was evaluated and neither impairment nor speed appeared to be factors in the fatal accident, but their investigation is continuing.
