TUCSON, Ariz. - Cochise County officials are reminding pet owners to vaccinate their animals against rabies after two skunks recently tested positive for the virus.
Carol Capas with the Cochise County Sheriff's Department says the first skunk was captured in Hereford on July 11, 2019 and the second was from Fort Huachuca on August 4, 2019.
Officials say this time of year bats are migrating south, so it's extra important for pets to have their rabies vaccinations so they are protected.
