Dogs and cats of certain breeds, colors, ages, and circumstances are often considered less adoptable by the public.
In an effort to find this animals forever homes, the Nancy J. Brua Animal Care Center is offering reduced adoption fees for these pets throughout the month of September.
Qualifying dogs will now have just a $50 fee and eligible cats will have a $25 fee. The adoption fee includes sterilization, the first set of vaccinations, a complete physical exam, a City pet license, and a microchip implant.
Animals that qualify for the less-adoptable pet special include pit bulls, black cats, long-time shelter residents, older dogs or cats, and animals with special needs or behaviors.
The center is located at 6799 E. Highway 90 in Sierra Vista and is open Tuesday-Friday from noon to 5 p.m.
