The Pima County Sheriff’s Department has added a new service at the San Xavier District Office.
A drop-off box for unused prescription and over-the-counter medications has been permanently installed at 2454 E. Ajo Way.
According to the Pima County Sheriffs Department, the purchase of the container was made possible through grant funding.
Improper or careless disposal creates potential problems, namely environmental and health hazards.
The box will be accessible between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
The Pima County Sheriff's Department will still continue to hold Dispose-a-Med events throughout the year.
