Tucson Police have named the pedestrian hit and killed by an SUV Thursday night.

47-year-old Dino Genduso was crossing Craycroft near 22nd around 10:15 p.m. That's when TPD Detectives say a marron SUV traveling north hit Genduso.

Police say Genduso was not in a crosswalk at the time of the crash. He was taken to Banner University Medical Center, where he died shortly after arriving.

Detectives with the TPD Traffic Investigations Unit say Genduso had just left a nearby business on foot. He crossed the southbound lanes of traffic, and as he entered the northbound lanes he was hit.

Police say the driver of the SUV did say at the scene and cooperated in the investigation. They also say the driver involved was not impaired, and speed did not appear to be a factor.

Police say that Genduso was wearing all dark clothing that night. No citations or arrests have been made.

The investigation is on-going. Anyone with additional information is asked to call 88-CRIME.
