Tucson Police say a pedestrian has died after being hit by a car on the Northside.

It happened near 1st Ave between Prince Road and Fort Lowell Road.

Police say, Robert Alfred Connor, 59, died on the scene, and the driver of the car stayed and cooperated with police.

According to police, a driver in a 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe was driving southbound on 1st Ave when Connor was crossing the street from east to west. Connor was not in a crosswalk (painted or implied) when he was hit by the Santa Fe.

The driver was not hurt. Detectives found neither speed nor impairment was a factor.

The investigation continues and no citations or arrest have been made at this time.
