A man died at the hospital after being hit by a vehicle just after 9:00 p.m. on the south side Saturday night.
Tucson Police say 31-year-old Michael P. Thomas was taken to Banner University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead.
Police say when they arrived at the scene at the intersection of W. Valencia Rd. and S. Midvale Park Rd. they found Thomas in the roadway.
An investigation revealed that Thoma was using a crosswalk to cross Valencia, but was crossing against the traffic signal.
The driver of a gray Ford pickup truck was headed westbound on Valencia with a green light when they hit Thomas. Police say the driver stayed at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing. No citations have been made at this time.
