Tucson Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that happened on Tucson's west side Saturday night around 7:30 p.m.
65-year-old Karen Snyder was taken to the hospital in critical condition after being hit by a car while crossing Prince Road east of Columbia Avenue. She was not in a marked crosswalk.
The driver stayed at the scene and told officers there was not enough time to stop once they saw Snyder walking in the roadway. There were no indications that the driver was impaired and speed does not appear to be a factor.
Snyder succumbed to her injuries shortly after midnight.
