A man has died after being hit by a car on the Eastside Saturday night.
Tucson police said the man, 42-year-old Carl Howard, was crossing Speedway near Pantano.
They said a Honda Accord hit him while he was crossing.
The driver told police it was too late for him to stop by the time he saw Howard.
Police said the driver stayed on scene and cooperated.
Howard died at the hospital.
Police say speed and impairment were not factors.
This is the 23rd fatal pedestrian crash in 2018.
