A 19-year-old woman is dead after a vehicle struck her early Sunday morning near the 6900 block of South Alvernon Way. She has been identified as Selena Analicia Hernandez.
According to a press release from Tucson police Sgt. Pete Dugan, the woman was lying in the road for an unknown reason when the collision occurred. Tucson Fire provided medical treatment, however the woman was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
The woman was not in a crosswalk and no citations have been issued to the driver.
