MARANA, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - A woman in her early 20s was hit and killed while crossing the street at Ina and Meredith on the northwest side around 7:45 p.m.
Nine On Your Side spoke to two witnesses on scene. They say they woman was crossing Ina in the crosswalk at Meredith when she was hit by a white dodge truck. The truck was making a left turn onto westbound Ina when he hit the woman. Witnesses says the truck hit the woman and ran her over.
Both witnesses were the first to help the woman in the street before paramedics came. Northwest Fire took the woman to Banner University Medical Center in critical condition. She later died.
The crash shut down westbound Ina Thursday evening. Traffic detectives are on scene to investigate. Marana Police say the driver of the white truck stayed on scene and is cooperating with police.
